“A few years ago, a couple of my friends and I talked about the idea of creating something that would benefit the students as well as the communities back home in McDowell County. As we made our way through post-secondary education, we realized that we lacked some of the proper tools that others carried. As a teacher, I realized that I spent a lot of time just trying to keep students afloat and not enough time helping them excel. As a coach, I realized that many of our students lack the foundations that they need to learn and grow every day, much less thrive and succeed beyond. We wanted to bring something to the students back home to help prepare them for the next step, whether it be college, a trade school, or simply entering the work force. After months of planning, discussing, and moving pieces into place. I am proud to announce a solution to help bring more leadership, more inspiration, more fellowship, and more encouragement to our students and our communities.
